HOPPY SPÉCIALE BELGE | 6% ABV
Brouwerij De Ryck (Herzele, Belgium) | De Kaapse Brouwers (Rotterdam, the Netherlands)
ARGON is a Hoppy Spéciale Belge of 6% ABV, brewed in collaboration with Brouwerij De Ryck from Herzele and De Kaapse Brouwers from Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
It is part of a special six-pack of beers—the Noble Gas Project—created with twelve other breweries to celebrate the third birthday of Siphon Brewing.
Working with Siphon Brewing on the recipe and process beforehand and attending on brewday were An De Ryck from four-generation-old family brewery De Ryck and Tjomme Zijlstra and Étienne Vermeulen from De Kaapse in Rotterdam.
ARGON marries the caramel malt profile and ester character of a traditional Spéciale Belge with the orange marmalade and resinous qualities of the citra, simcoe and mandarina bavaria hop varieties used in late additions and dry-hop.
In the right hands, the six noble gases are a powerful source of light, bringing illumination and colour to people's lives.
We want The Noble Gas Project to shine a light on the values that make us excited about beer: Belgian tradition, international influence, collaborative learning and being unafraid.
Greek for "lazy" but shining as a purposeful, violet-coloured laser, Argon is distinctive and incandescent.
ARGON will be available to try for the first time, on draught, at the third birthday party of Siphon Brewing and thereafter in limited quantities through the regular partners of the brewery.
